THUNDER CANYON IS A BURRIS TIRE SPEC TRACK.
ALL KART CLASSES MUST RUN BURRIS SLICK TIRES.
THUNDER CANYON WILL BE USING WKA ENGINE TECH RULES IN 2008 WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE EXHAUST PIPE. ANY PIPE IS LEGAL AND A MUFFLER IS REQUIRED. FEATURE WINNERS ARE SUBJECT TO TECH INSPECTION FOR ANY WKA ENGINE RULE.
THUNDER CANYON USES THE NO-STOP RULE FOR POST-CAUTION RESTARTS.
IT IS OUR EXPERIENCE IN RACING THAT THIS RULE IS THE MOST CONSISTENT. JUDGEMENT CALLS ARE NOT. BLATENT ROUGH DRIVING WILL BE PENALIZED, HOWEVER, WITH THE USE OF A VERY DARK COLORED FLAG.
RULE VIOLATIONS WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF POINTS AND PAYOUT FOR THE EVENT IN QUESTION. FREQUENT VIOLATIONS MAY RESULT IN SUSPENSION AND/OR FINES.
ANY KART MAY BE TECHED AT ANY TIME BY TRACK OFFICIALS.
ANY KART FINISHING IN THE TOP THREE MAY BE PROTESTED BY ANOTHER DRIVER/OWNER IN THE SAME CLASS FOR A FEE OF $150. IN THE CASE OF PROTEST;
1) THE PROTESTED DRIVER MAY DECLINE THE PROTEST AND BE SUSPENDED FOR 1 WEEK PLUS LOSE ALL POINTS AND WINNINGS FOR THE PROTESTED EVENT AND PAY A $100 WAIVER FEE TO THUNDER CANYON. THE PROTEST FEE WILL BE RETURNED TO THE PROTESTER.
OR
2) THE PROTESTED DRIVER MAY SUBMIT TO THE PROTEST. IF THE KART IS FOUND LEGAL, THE PROTESTED DRIVER WILL RECEIVE $100 OF THE PROTEST FEE. THE TECH MAN WILL GET THE REMAINING $50. IF THE KART IS FOUND ILLEGAL, THE PROTESTED DRIVER WILL LOSE ALL POINTS AND WINNINGS FOR THE EVENT. THE TECH MAN WILL RECEIVE $50 OF THE PROTEST FEE AND THE REMAINING $100 WILL BE RETURNED TO THE PROTESTER. THE PROTESTED DRIVER WILL BE SUSPENDED UNTIL A $100 WAIVER IS PAID TO THUNDER CANYON.
Chest protectors meeting SFI specification 20.1 are mandatory for all drivers in all classes where maximum age is 12 or lower. |
